The Global Tuna Alliance (GTA) with the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission (IOTC) has launched a campaign to strengthen sustainable practices within the industry.

The CITEpesquero Piura has already trained 50 artisanal fishermen and dock operators in the localities of Yacila, Paita, Parachique, and Sechura.
"I know the projects require a lot of resources in the municipalities, and I hope that the support we provide will be helpful," said Norwegian Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, Marianne Sivertsen Næss commenting on municipal youth fishing projects.
The optimistic outlook for Peru's first anchovy fishing season 2024 is confirmed: in only 21 days the fleet has already landed 42.34% of the allocated quota, more than one million tons.
Spain produces more than 12,000 tons of canned anchovies, generating over 100 million euros annually.
This initiative will monitor protected marine fauna that has suffered injuries and illnesses.
